SIM 2020: promise kept!
The Mineral Industry Fair took place at the Angers exhibition center from October 7 to 9, 2020.
A challenge! So much was the uncertainty about his behavior until the last hours during this period of resurgence of the Covid-19 epidemic and the strengthening of health measures.
Better still, the profession mobilized and exhibitors responded to make the congress and exhibition a success.
With 280 exhibitors covering all materials, equipment and services dedicated to the mineral industry, visitors who made the trip were sure to find an answer to their expectations. And there is another promise kept! Portrait of a 69th edition which is already a milestone.
Unique visitors: 1737
Exhibitors (collaborators + delegates): 1,533
Total participants: 3580
A privileged meeting place for professionals from the mineral industry, the congress-exhibition which is held each year in a different city, has set up its stands and meetings at the Angers exhibition center. Each edition brings together thousands of participants who come to update their knowledge by discovering the wealth of the exhibition and the conferences dedicated to all players in the mineral industry. The congress-exhibition usually brings together nearly 5,000 participants who come from France and Europe.
They were nearly 3,600 this year to wear the mask and apply barrier gestures. The show had 280 exhibitors. While the number of exhibitors was down 30% from previous years, this drop was largely offset by visitors who came with real investment projects. It is true that the exhibition promotes the meeting between equipment suppliers and service providers, their customers and major decision-makers.
In addition, the Exhibitors' Forum provided a forum for the most interesting innovations.
At the same time, the 2020 edition saw the participation of around fifteen companies involved in renewable energies (photovoltaic and wind power); an outlet that seems increasingly important in the rehabilitation of mining sites.
